1. Who we are
CareerBridge ZA is a product of BlueWare (Pty) Ltd, a South African software company. We built CareerBridge ZA to help South Africans build professional CVs, assess job fit, and find employment. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
2. What information we collect
We collect the following personal information: - Email address — when you join our waitlist or create an account - Full name, phone number, and location — when you use the CV builder - Employment history and educational background — when you use the CV builder - Skills, languages, and other CV-related information — when you use the CV builder - Job descriptions — when you use the vacancy checker We do not collect payment information, identity numbers, or sensitive personal information as defined by POPIA.
3. Why we collect your information
We collect your information for the following lawful purposes: - To provide you with our CV building and vacancy checking services - To notify you when new features are available (waitlist only) - To improve our AI models and product features - To comply with our legal obligations We will never sell your personal information to third parties. We will never use your information for purposes other than those listed above without your explicit consent.
4. How we store and protect your information
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database provider that encrypts data at rest and in transit. We apply additional security measures including input validation, rate limiting, and access controls. We do not store CV content permanently — CV data is processed in real time and not retained after your session unless you create an account.
5. How long we keep your information
• Waitlist email addresses are kept until you request deletion or until we launch and you create an account or opt out. - CV data entered during a session is not permanently stored unless you explicitly save it. - Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. - You may request deletion of your data at any time.
6. Your rights under POPIA
As a South African data subject, you have the right to: - Know what personal information we hold about you - Request correction of inaccurate information - Request deletion of your personal information - Object to the processing of your personal information - Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@careerbridgeza.co.za. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and tracking
CareerBridge ZA does not currently use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We may introduce first-party analytics in future to improve our product. We will update this policy and notify users before doing so.
8. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate CareerBridge ZA: - Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com) - Vercel — hosting and deployment (vercel.com) - Groq — AI processing for CV generation and vacancy analysis (groq.com) Each provider has their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. Your CV and vacancy data is sent to Groq for AI processing and is subject to their data retention policies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify waitlist members and registered users of any material changes by email. Continued use of CareerBridge ZA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
